Users
The SiDE Hub is about including users in the process of new technological developments. What exactly will be expected of people who agree to take part in the SiDE Research Pool? Initially, all we need is:
- Your contact detail
- Your agreement that we can call you when a research study needs you
Research studies tend to require different types of people depending on the nature of the work. Researchers may want to get the experience and opinions of people who wear glasses, for example, or they may wish to talk to people who have recently retired or are about to retire. If you register for the SiDE Research Pool, you may be asked to participant in one or more of the following types of activities:
- Fill in a questionnaire
- Give your opinion on the usability or usefulness of a piece of equipment
- Come together with a group of people to comment on new technology ideas – a focus group
- Be interviewed, for example, about your experience of online banking or switching to digital TV
- Test new software or devices for usability
Whatever the research study might be you are under no obligation to agree to take part if you do not want to.
